Purush Sammelan: Strengthening Male Engagement in Reproductive Health

A Purush Sammelan was organized by the "Aao Batein Karein" Team, with support from the HCL Foundation (HCLF), involving male participants from the intervention slum communities to strengthen male engagement in family planning and promote informed participation in reproductive and sexual health decision-making.

The Sammelan addressed a broad spectrum of critical issues, including prevention of child marriage, adolescent pregnancy awareness, family planning methods, and prevention of sexually transmitted and reproductive tract infections (STIs/RTIs), including HIV/AIDS.

The sessions were designed to be interactive and inclusive, using audio-visual presentations, participatory games, and facilitated group discussions to encourage open dialogue, address misconceptions, and enhance understanding of shared responsibility in reproductive health.

The programme concluded with an engaging Challa game, which served as a recap activity to reinforce the key messages shared during the sessions and encourage participants to apply the learnings within their families and communities.
